I
have deep connections with this area. My father's family grew up here. My grandfather, Cal or Cavy Fenter followed my "Uncle
Boss" from Texas in the early 1900s to work for the Atchison,
Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. My grandfather and father, Werdie, also worked for the New Deal, Works Progress Administration
(WPA) helping to build City Park in La Junta, as well as other buildings around the area. I moved here in 2004 to care for
my aunt, Helen Owen, wife of Max, mother of, Dan and Roger. After her death, I chose to live here.
I
have been told I "come from good stock"!
